Dreams has a multi-classing system called remorting. Basically, what this means is that at certain levels you will have an opportunity to switch, or remort, to another class. If you chose to remort, you will get to keep all the skills/spells you already have plus all your equipment and money and half your hp/mana/moves and be able to learn all the skills/spells of your remort class. You will have the option of remorting at levels 50 and 100. I'll walk you through an example to demonstrate how it works.

For my original character, I choose to be a Squire. I play my character to level 49, learning all the skills/spells of the Squire class as I do. When I make level 50, I get the following message:

You raise a level!!
Your gain is: 18 hits, 6 mana, 10 moves, 4 practices, and 1 train.
===> You are ready to remort, please type 'remort'. <===

I now type remort and get this message:

[611hp 382m 325mv 1000xp] You may choose between the following classes to remort to:
Knight Mage Rogue Fighter Psionicist Acolyte
Type: 'remort <choice>' to continue your adventure.

After studying the skills/spells available to each of these classes by typing slist <classname>, I decide that I want to remort to an Acolyte because that class has some skills/spells that I want to pick up. I now type remort Acolyte and get this message:

[262hp 149m 157mv 1000xp] You have begun your training as an Acolyte.

At this point, I become a level 2 Acolyte. I have all the skills/spells that I learned as a Squire, all my money, all my equipment, half the hp/mana/moves that I had as a level 50 Squire, and I can now learn all the skills/spells of the Acolyte class as I work my way back to level 50 again. Note that although I am level 2 again, I have 262 hps compared to the 20 or so that a player has when they first start a character and all my level 50 equipment. This allows me to make level 50 again much faster than I originally did.

I play my character back to level 49 again, learning the skills/spells of my new class as I go. When I make level 50 again, I get this message:

You raise a level!!
Your gain is: 15 hits, 11 mana, 10 moves, 6 practices, and 1 train.
You have learned all you can for now of the Acolyte, you must now continue your learning as a Knight.

When you make level 50 on your first remort, you automatically remort to the second rank of your original class. No action is required on your part. Since I started out as a Squire, I automatically become a level 50 Knight because that is the second rank of my original class. I now have all the skills and spells of both a Squire and an Acolyte and can play my character to level 100, learning the skills/spells of a Knight as I do so. When I make level 100, I get this message:

You raise a level!!
Your gain is: 17 hits, 8 mana, 10 moves, 4 practices, and 1 train.
You have learned all you can of Knight, you must decide upon the next path you take.

At this point, I type remort and get this message:

[2310hp 1340m 960mv 1000xp] You may choose between the following classes to remort to:
Hero Paladin Cleric Mage Rogue Fighter Psionicist
Type: 'remort <choice>' to continue your adventure.

After studying my options by typing slist <classname>, I decide that I would like to pick up the skills/spells of a cleric. I type remort Cleric and get this message:

[1102hp 625m 470mv 1000xp]You have begun your training as a Cleric.

Since Cleric is the second rank of my first remort (Acolyte), I go back to level 50. I now have all the skills and spells of a Squire, Acolyte, and Knight. I still have all my money, all my level 100 equipment, and half the hps/mana/moves that I had at level 100. I play my character back to level 100, learning the Cleric skills and spells as I go. When I make level 100 again, I get this message:

You raise a level!!
Your gain is: 16 hits, 8 mana, 10 moves, 6 practices, and 1 train.
You have learned all you can of Cleric, you must decide upon the next path you take.

Once again I type remort, and I get this message:

[2094hp 1284m 881mv 1000xp] You may choose to be either of the following two:
Paladin Hero
Type: 'remort <choice>' to continue your adventure.

This is my final opportunity to remort. I study the skills/spells available to the two choices by typing slist paladin and slist hero and decide that I like the skills and spells that a Hero gets. So, I type remort hero and get this message:

[2094hp 1284m 881mv 1000xp] You have begun your training as a Hero.

I am now a level 100 Hero and can continue playing my character up to level 150, gaining the Hero skills and spells as I go.

Remorting is an individual option. You don't have to remort at all if you don't want to but most people do. It will take you longer to make level 150 if you remort along the way, but your character will be a lot stronger in the long run.

NOTE: Any skills or spells that you have gained but not practiced before remorting will be lost. Be sure and practice them BEFORE you remort.
